During the season six premiere of Hulu’s The Kardashians earlier this month, Kim Kardashian surprised viewers by removing her wig to show her naturally frizzy hair. The reality star, 44, revealed her true hair during her sister Kourtney Kardashian‘s birthday breakfast at an IHOP in Los Angeles.

Joining them were their mother Kris Jenner, sister Khloé Kardashian, and several of the Lemme mogul’s friends. For the occasion, Kim donned a Balenciaga baseball cap over a noticeable brunette wig resembling her real hair. This episode was recorded just weeks before Kim unveiled her platinum blonde hair for the second time at the Met Gala last year.

TikTok Reacts to Kim Kardashian’s ‘Frazzled’ Blonde Hair After She Admitted Fearing It Would ‘Fall Out’ From Bleaching

Two years earlier, the SKIMS founder had worried her hair would “fall out” after bleaching it for 14 hours straight for her muchtalkedabout Marilyn Monroe look at the 2022 event. Soon after the episode aired, one fan uploaded the hair reveal clip from the show to TikTok. Fans headed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“The blond hair was not it,” one wrote as another described Kim’s ‘do beneath the wig to be “frazzled.” Another commented, “I don’t understand why she wouldn’t just wear a good blonde wig instead of an extreme dye.” Someone else wondered, “why is it not glued at all,” as an additional viewer chimed in, “not her clocking how long her actual hair is.”

In the clip, Kim was shown informing her friend that she was donning a darker wig to maintain her "blonde" makeover a secret until the Met Gala occasion. In a confessional scene, the Keeping up with the Kardashians alum told the camera, "I am in the process of dying my hair for the Met."

She went on, "There will be times where you see me with brown hair and now I have blonde hair, so I will keep you guys guessing this season."

Earlier this month, Kim turned heads at the 2025 Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala held at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles with a brand new ‘do. She swapped her usual long, raven tresses for a sleek, side-parted, chin-length bob with flipped ends.

At the event, she donned a low-back, crocodile-embossed black leather gown from Balmain. Her dress featured a semi-transparent chainmail section around the waist and hem areas, complemented by a halter neck design.

When it comes to her new hair, an insider reportedly dished to The Daily Mail that Kim “wanted a younger, more flirty look.”

The tipster also told the outlet that the mom of four (who shares daughter North, 11, son Saint, 9, daughter Chicago, 7, and son Psalm, 5, with her ex Kanye West) "is so busy these days that  it is just easier to have shorter hair because the long hair takes forever and a day to style."

On February 2nd, Chris Appleton, Kardashian's longtime hairstylist, shared details about her fresh C-shaped bob haircut on Instagram. She flaunted this new look for the first time one day before at the gala event.

The stylist, 41, wrote: "Love this new chop on Kim, we got 7 inches off her hair! (No it’s not a wig before u start lol)." Appleton shared a solo picture of his client, a photo of them together, and an image of her cut hair on the floor.
