Kim Kardashian Just Made The Most Heartbreaking Announcement EVER!

Kim Kardashian West is using her privilege to shed light on the heartbreaking topic of wrongful convictions!

The reality TV star (and future first lady?) just announced her involvement with a new podcast dedicated to the topic, in partnership with Spotify. We are so happy that more attention is being given to this important issue.

"Proving Innocence," will premiere in September 2020 and cover "criminal justice reform and wrongful convictions," according to reports. The series is co-produced by Lori Rothschild Ansaldi and will follow Ansaldi's work investigating the case of Kevin Keith.

For background, Keith was arrested in 1994 on suspicion of shooting three people in Bucyrus, Ohio, and although he was never questioned by police and there was no solid evidence linking him to the crime, he was convicted of a triple homicide and sentenced to death.

Although the governor of Ohio commuted his execution, Keith remains in jail on a life-sentence. Kim has posted about the case to her Instagram and Twitter audiences, pleading for justice for the man who has already spent so much time behind bars.

"Kevin Keith was convicted of a triple homicide back in 1994 in Ohio and was sentenced to death," she wrote on Instagram last summer. "I heard about Kevin Keith’s case last year & the more I learn about it, the more I believe the world needs to hear what happened to him!" Indeed.

While she is facing some backlash for taking center stage in the podcast, rather than lifting Black voices, we are looking forward to some national attention being given to Keith's and other similar cases.
