Kim Kardashian officially filed for divorce from Kanye West back in February, and as of last week she has filed to become “legally single,” shutting down her ex-husband’s pleas for reunion. West has made it clear that he’s hoping to make things right with Kardashian after publicly declaring his lasting love for her over the past several months, but the 41-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is evidently having none of it.
According to court documents seen by E! News, Kardashian “has no desire to reconcile” with her rapper ex, and has moved to change her marital status in the eyes of the law to single. “Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means. The continued maintenance of technical marital status between [Kim] and [Ye] serves no useful purpose, and there is no reason to maintain the legal relationship,” the document said.
The documents also note that Kardashian has been working to "move this case forward to a speedy and amicable resolution," to which West and his team have "been non-responsive." As the pair have yet to be declared officially divorced, Kardashian has also stated in the documents that she will accept "any conditions" that will end their marriage for good.
As of November, Kardashian has been rumored to be dating comedian Pete Davidson, and while West was allegedly involved with Irina Shayk earlier this year, his recent pleas to rekindle the relationship reveal he never quite moved on from Kardashian after all. The pair have continued to co-parent their four children together, however, despite their rocky personal relationship.
Adding insult to injury, Kardashian also requested in the legal documents that she return to her maiden name, removing West from her last name. A source close to the family also recently revealed to E! that while Kardashian, "tried for a long, long time" to make the marriage work, she finally "reached her breaking point."
