Kim Kardashian’s Melania Trump Post on Inauguration Day Reportedly Costs Her 150K Instagram Followers
The mom of four (who shares daughter North, 11, son Saint, 9, daughter Chicago, 7, and son Psalm, 5, with her ex Kanye West) shares a close bond with Ivanka Trump. However, she and the Kardasian-Jenner fam seldom make their political views public. When they do express their opinions, they usually align with liberal values.
The SKIMS founder's recent post has sparked criticism because, despite her status as a highly influential and prominent figure, Kardashian rarely discusses her political stance and stayed silent during the 2024 presidential election. After sharing the picture of Mrs. Trump, Kardashian faced backlash from fans who criticized her in the comments on her Instagram. She had posted the photo without any caption.
One user wrote: "girl…. sold out out for far right maga propaganda." Another added: "Well at least we can see exactly who you are." An additional user commented: "UNFOLLOWED!" One other replied: "Guys unfollow, don’t watch their show and don’t buy their products. Hit them where it hurts." Someone else acknowledged that Kardashian posted a photo of "Melania" and not "Martin," pointing out that the inauguration was held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
As fans might remember, Kardashian supported former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election against President Trump, 78, who eventually emerged victorious. Following the 2020 victory of former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, she shared a photo of the duo on X, accompanied by three blue heart emojis.
Trump and Kardashian experienced a falling out after collaborating effectively on criminal justice reform during Trump's initial term. Following his presidency, Kardashian contacted him at his Mar-a-Lago estate, seeking his support for another clemency request. The former Apprentice star declined, suspecting that she had voted for Biden, 82, in the 2020 presidential election.
Kardashian has not disclosed her choice in the 2020 presidential election. Nonetheless, she has openly praised Trump for collaborating with her on behalf of the prisoners she has supported nationwide. In 2019, the businesswoman notably said that she "did consider the fact that I would get a lot of backlash if I went to the White House."
