The Kardashian family has a somewhat complicated history with Forbes. Back in 2019, Forbes named Kylie Jenner, Kim's younger sister, a self-made billionaire before taking back the title. Explaining the mistake, Forbes claimed that Jenner and her family went to "unusual lengths" to make her net worth seem larger than it was.

Understandably, Kylie did not take the news well. She responded on Twitter, writing, "what am i even waking up to. i thought this was a reputable site.. all i see are a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions lol. i’ve never asked for any title or tried to lie my way there EVER. period."
