We may have not seen their shock split coming, but according to sources, both Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson knew that their romance “wasn’t going to work” for quite some time! So what was the real reason for them going their separate ways?
Although Kim’s estranged ex-husband Kanye West, 45, already posted – and then deleted – his initial reaction to the break-up rumors, neither the 41-year-old SKIMS founder nor the 28-year-old former Saturday Night Live star have commented on them yet. However, a few sources close to the couple haven’t been so quiet, as it’s becoming more and more obvious what the *real* reason for their split was!
According to reports, their break-up was mainly caused by their busy schedules, as a source told E! News that their work commitments "made it really difficult to maintain a relationship." Pete is currently in Australia filming Wizards!, while Kim is in Calabasas, California with her and Ye's four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, and is also busy working on her many businesses, and also filming for her family's Hulu show, The Kardashians. We're exhausted just thinking about it!
However, that's only the half of it, as another source said that their 13-year age difference also played a huge part, as did the fact that they allegedly wanted very different things in life. "Pete is 28 and Kim is 41 — they are just in very different places at the moment," another source told Page Six. "Pete is totally spontaneous and impulsive and wants her to fly to New York, or wherever he is on a moment’s notice. But Kim has four kids and it isn’t that easy. She needs to focus on the kids."
Having said that, another insider told Entertainment Tonight that the mom-of-four isn’t ready to settle down, and wants to play the field a little longer! "They had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date," the source said. "Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he’s the nicest and sweetest guy in the world and there’s no drama or anything weird between them now."
The source went on to say that Kim loved Pete's spontaneity and how different he was to the "Eazy" rapper, but they ultimately seem to want different things. "She felt like Pete was the extreme opposite of Kanye and it was good for her then," the source added. "She initially thought it would be a fun fling, but then it got more serious when they were spending so much time together. Kim wasn't feeling like she was willing to settle down with him just yet."
Although fans are shocked about the split, if we are to believe the various reports, both Kim and Pete had a feeling that this day would come! "Pete knew it wasn’t going to work. He’d been saying it for a while, and Kim knew it too," an insider revealed to Page Six. "The distance was a big thing, and next month Pete starts shooting his new show in NYC and he’s going to be busy with that." There are apparently no hard feelings between the former couple, as according to Page Six's source, "they’re both bummed it didn’t work out."
