Kim Kardashian is no stranger to causing a stir with her comments – and she did so once again on one of the latest episodes of her family’s hit Hulu show, The Kardashians.
In the episode which premiered last month, the Skims founder was gushing about how much she loved her friends after they helped her celebrate her 43rd birthday. In her confessional, the mom-of-four said: “My friend circle, I always say I hit the jackpot in the friends department. Spending my 43rd birthday with all the girls that inspire me and motivate me is just really special.”
Some of the friends she was referring to included Allison Statter, Simone Harouche, Sarah Meyer Michaelson, Lindsay May, Zoe Winkler Reinis, and Ashley Kassan. While raving about how much she loved her pals, the controversial star claimed that she didn’t feel the need to see a therapist due to the support she got from her friends, which caused a bit of a stir online…

Kim Kardashian Faces Backlash For Therapy Comments On ‘The Kardashians’
In her confessional for the hit Hulu show, Kim expressed her gratitude for her friendship group and said: “This week in particular has been complete chaos, but honestly, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my friends.”
“Like I have the best friends and they’re super supportive,” she continued, adding: “I think that’s probably why I’ve never seen a therapist, is because I have the best friends in the entire world and they mean everything to me.”
Her therapy (or lack thereof!) comment has since caused a stir on the internet, with many people calling it “harmful” and “such a terrible message to viewers” online.

“Your friends are not therapists,” one fan wrote on X. “This idea that supportive friends are substitutes for therapy should end. This is a harmful narrative and not reality,” slammed a second fan, adding: “Your friends should not be your therapists and vice versa. What she’s saying is very harmful.” “This is such a weird and damaging take,” wrote another fan, as someone else begged: “Girl get that therapist.”
The comments continued over on Reddit, with one person writing: “I legit fail to see the correlation between good friends and not going to therapy,” adding: “If anything, good friends who see you in distress would be the ones to advise you about therapy. And even without these ‘supportive’ friends of hers, the massive ego would do the job.”

"I have super supportive friends, and I go to therapy," noted another, as someone else replied: "Right?! These things are not mutually exclusive!"
