Taylor Swift Drops A Kim Kardashian Diss Track
Taylor Swift dropped her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department last week, and on it, a song called "thanK u aIMee." Notice any familiar letters? K-I-M? But let's back up first. This all started years ago, back when Kanye West dropped a song called "Famous," in which he claimed, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b*tch famous."
Taylor Swift appropriately responded, shocked and horrified, after which Kim Kardashian released a voice recording of the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer seemingly giving Kanye permission to release the song. This caused thousands, maybe even millions, to turn against Taylor Swift, sending her into hiding. It only came out afterwards that Kim had edited the video to paint Taylor in a bad light.
The two have been feuding ever since, with Taylor Swift even calling the SKIMS founder out in her TIME Person of the Year interview. Kim's own mother-slash-manager, Kris Jenner, even encouraged her to apologize, to which she refused.
Which brings us back to "thanK u aIMee." The song, which fans can't help but assume is about Kim Kardashian, has lyrics including "And it wasn't a fair fight, or a clean kill / Each time that Aimee stomped across my grave / And then she wrote headlines in the local paper / Laughing at each baby step I'd take," and, "And I can't forgive the way you made me fell / Scream, 'F*ck you, Aimee' to the night sky." Take that, Kim!
Kim Kardashian Claps Back With Karlie Kloss Post
Well, Kim wasn't just going to sit and take the thousands of "thanK u aIMee" comments on all of her Instagram posts calling her a "known bully." No, she was going to clap back, and apparently double down on her stance. Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram story to post a selfie of her and Karlie Kloss, Taylor Swift's ex-best friend and public enemy #2 (after Kim, of course).
Years ago, Swift and Kloss were inseparable, spending birthdays together, going out to dinner, attending concerts and sports games. And then, right around the same time Scooter Braun stole Taylor Swift's masters from her, they stopped hanging out. And Kloss didn't try and hide her close relationship with Braun at the time.
So basically, Kim Kardashian hit Taylor Swift where it hurts.
But, it seems that she didn't listen to the rest of Taylor's song, specifically the lyrics, "I built a legacy that you can't undo / But when I count the scars, there's a moment of truth / That there wouldn't be this if there hadn't been you." Because following Taylor Swift's year of hiding came reputation, one of her most successful albums, and after Scooter Braun stole her masters from her, she rerecorded them, titling them "Taylor's Version," and truly built an empire. Basically, Kim Kardashian may have won a battle or two, but Taylor Swift will always win the war.
