Kim Kardashian Gets Candid About Dealing With Acne Breakouts At 42
The mom of four noted that having personally experienced acne in her forties, she drew inspiration from the ordeal to formulate her brand's skincare products. "Luckily, I documented it, and we’ve been working on a lot of products that have taken that into account," the Kardashians star revealed. "I never thought I would be making acne products, but that’s definitely coming in the future."
The SKIMS founder went on: "I think makeup is really good at covering it, but there are times when you just don’t want to wear it, and it makes you feel really insecure." She explained that even with the help of a glam team and makeup squad, it's still "really tough when your skin goes through a lot of changes that you weren’t really expecting to go through."
Kardashian divulged another tactic she uses to prevent exacerbating an existing breakout. "When you put on long fake nails and you don’t know how to function. When you do have an acne situation going on and picking will only make it worse, I’d say the best thing you can do is put on some long nails — that’ll prevent you from doing anything to your skin that you should not be doing," she shared.
The American Horror Story: Delicate actress explained: "A really good high-definition mirror is the scariest but most amazing tool. I also honestly love extractor tools that just help get everything out — they’re my favorite. I do get good results from using them. I do it daily."
Kardashian revealed that although those techniques have been her favored means of addressing inflamed skin, she is open to exploring alternative methods as well. "If someone told me that something would help my skin, I’m definitely down to try it," she said. "I’m down to try a lot of things."
When it comes to trying different skincare methods, as many fans will recall, Kardashian did tell the New York Times in a June 2022 interview that she would "eat poop every single day" if it helped her skin look "younger" and more radiant.
