It’s officially more than a year since King Charles III became monarch following the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II on September 8th 2022, at the age of 96. And therefore, more than one year since Prince William and Kate Middleton upgraded their Duke and Duchess of Cambridge titles and became the new Prince and Princess of Wales.
More than one year later, a clip of King Charles introducing the new Prince and Princess of Wales to the world in his first address to the nation as the new monarch, one day after his accession, has resurfaced on social media, and it is once again sending fans into a frenzy!
The clip was posted on TikTok by user @princessmiddleton_ on September 19th, and featured part of King Charles’ moving speech where he introduced his son and daughter-in-law using their new titles. “Today, I am proud to create him Prince of Wales, Tywysog Cymru, the country whose title I have been so greatly privileged to bear during so much of my life and duty,” King Charles’ accession tribute began, which you can watch in full below.
“With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the centre ground where vital help can be given,” he continued, most of which can also be heard in the TikTok video. “I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas.”
