King Charles Reveals The Moment He Broke Down In Tears After Being ‘Deeply Touched’ By Prince William: ‘Moved By What He Said’

Before King Charles became King, he was Prince Charles of Cornwall, and during this time and still to this day, he’s always been very dedicated to his duty to the Duchy. As Prince William prepares to take on the king’s responsibilities, he’s revealed what sorts of things he’s going to place a lot of value one, one of which is the Duchy of Cornwall, a sentiment that his father felt was really touching. Prince William Talks About The Duchy Of Cornwall
During the ITV documentary, Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall, William spoke candidly with a second-generation farmer in the region. "I've started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day and what I do with it," William said, "I think it's really important. The family angle, I really do."
Prince William is the current beneficiary of the Duchy of Cornwall, an estate that was established many, many years ago to produce an income for the heir to the throne. Before Charles became King, it was him in this role.
King Charles Moved To Tears
Also shared in the documentary was King Charles' reaction to Williams thoughts and intentions with the Duchy. "When I saw it, I couldn't believe it," King Charles said. "I was deeply touched and moved by what he said. Frankly, it reduced me to tears."
"It did, really," he continued, "because I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him has made the last 50 years worthwhile." The King has spent decades modernizing and expanding the area to ensure it remains sustainable even when he isn't the one directly caring for it.
