King Charles may not have extended a Christmas invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle last month, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love/want to see their children.

According to reports, the monarch has “great sadness” over his almost non-existent relationship with grandson Prince Archie, 5, and granddaughter Princess Lilibet, 3, with a royal expert recently predicting that the situation won’t change any time soon. This is likely due to the ongoing feud between Prince Harry, King Charles, and Prince William, as well as Prince Harry’s lawsuit over his private security being taken away.

King Charles 'Hardly Knows' His Two US-Based Grandchildren

King Charles has met Prince Archie, who was born in London, a handful of times, but he has seemingly only met Lilibet, who was born in California, once. This was back in June 2022 during the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, with the celebrations coinciding with Lilibet's first birthday.

Speaking to The Mirror about King Charles' estranged relationship with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who live in Montecito, California with their parents, royal commentator Jennie Bond said: "It must remain a great sadness to the king to be so distant from his two US-based grandchildren."

"He hardly knows them and there's no prospect of that changing anytime soon," she continued.

"The early years in a child's life are so magical — and once they're gone, they're gone. I hope the king doesn't dwell on his loss too much, but it must hurt," Bond added, before going on to speculate that Prince Harry and Meghan may have sent the monarch some updates on his grandchildren without the media knowing about it.

"Maybe, behind the scenes, Harry and Meghan have sent pictures to the king," Bond wondered.
