Queen Camilla Gives An Update On Charles' Health Status
On Jan. 18th, just hours after Kensington Palace announced that Kate Middleton had been hospitalized following a "planned abdominal surgery," Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles will be hospitalized next week for treatment for his "enlarged prostate."
Though his condition is "benign," and not uncommon among men, especially at his age, fans couldn't help but worry about the 75-year-old monarch.
Queen Camilla, who visited the Aberdeen Art Gallery on Thursday afternoon, was asked by the Lord Provost about Charles' condition, to which she replied, "He's fine, thank you very much. Looking forward to getting back to work."
Kate Middleton's 14 Day Hospital Stay
This news of the King's hospital stay follows the announcement of Kate Middleton's "planned abdominal surgery" that will keep her in the hospital for 10-14 days, which occurred on Tuesday. Kensington Palace released a statement yesterday assuring royal fans that "the surgery was successful" and that "it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery."
"Based on the current medical advice," the statement continues, "she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter." Easter this year falls on March 31st, meaning the Princess of Wales is looking at a 2+ month recovery. After her surgery, Kate will recover at home in Windsor.
According to People, Prince William will also be postponing public duties to support Kate during her recovery and take care of their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
