King Charles is reportedly making some changes within the royal family, and that includes the famous royal residences.

A royal family insider recently told the media that the king is in the process of setting up $2M rennovations of Frogmore Cottage, the property Queen Elizabeth II gifted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2018. The property has been abandoned since the couple’s departure, and now, the king’s project will reportedly get rid of any “traces” of their life there. Read more about the situation and cottage renovations below.

King Charles Is Reportedly Spending Over $2M To Rennovate Frogmore Cottage

For many, it feels like a long time since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were active members of the royal family, but the other members of the monarchy are seemingly ready to fully move on since their departure.

During their earlier days as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the controversial couple were given a special gift from Harry's late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The year of their wedding, in 2018, as a wedding gift, she gave them Frogmore Cottage in Windsor as their home.

They lived in the quaint property from April 2019 until they stepped down from their royal duties in 2020. Just before they officially moved into their Windsor home, before the birth of their son, Archie, Harry and Meghan reportedly had some costly renovations done, which were paid for by the official Sovereign Grant. When they left for the US, Harry repaid the cost of those renovations. Now, the property is being fixed up again, but this time, a royal insider told The Sun that the king has intentions to "reverse" what they had done.

King Charles Allegedly Wants To Get Rid Of All 'Traces' Of Harry & Meghan At Frogmore

According to royal experts, the cottage has been abandoned for the last three years, after the last of the Netflix stars' items were officially evicted from the property. Therefore, it's not surprising that the royal family would want to fix it up to have it back in action.

However, the king is seemingly doing an emotional sweep of the home, as his renovations, which will cost over $2M, are intended to make it look as though Harry and Meghan were never there.

"It's been empty for three years," the inside source told the above publication. "Even Andrew thought it wasn't good enough for him to move in. Maybe if they get rid of any trace of Harry and Meghan, then someone within the royal household will fancy it. It would draw the line under Frogmore Cottage's controversial history and return it to the pre-Meghan and Harry era."

The news didn't come long after Charles and Queen Camilla seemingly removed Harry and Meghan's wedding photo from their Highgrove House estate. So, it seems that even though there are whispers of Prince Harry reconciling with his relatives, it might not mean there's a literal home for him in the UK left.
