King Charles Reportedly Monitors Meghan Markle’s Interviews About The Royal Family Now: ‘He Will Be Watching’

According to a new report from OK! Magazine, King Charles is likely “made aware of every keynote interview” that his daughter-in-law Meghan Markle takes part in. Despite Markle, 41, no longer being a working member of the royal family, the monarch, 73, is allegedly keeping a watchful eye on her and her latest career endeavors. It goes the same for Prince Harry, as a royal expert reportedly told the outlet that Charles “will be watching” his youngest son, 37, as well.
“Charles’ modus operandi has been to pretty much try and ignore any stuff that’s written and said about him,” said Duncan Larcombe, British journalist, commentator and former royal editor for The Sun to OK! He added,”But, on Meghan, I would be very, very surprised if he weren’t being made aware of every kind of keynote interview and commercial stuff, because they have to.”
Last week, Markle graced the cover of Variety for an in-depth interview, and it’s likely, Marie Claire writes, that the king’s staff briefed him about what the former Suits star said. “It’s the royal family brand,” Larcombe said. “It is a fact Meghan is trading on the brand that King Charles is now very much in charge of. So, yes, he will be watching. It will be far more in a business sense. He won’t want her to be saying things that could be damaging to the reputations of the royal family and, in particular, things that, in his opinion, are utterly untrue and unfair.”
