During a visit to the Army Flying Museum in Hampshire, England, King Charles opened up about a side effect of his cancer treatment while speaking with veterans.

As reported by the Daily Mail this week, one of the veterans in attendance, Aaron Mapplebeck, recounted his own experience of losing his sense of taste during chemotherapy for testicular cancer.

The monarch, 75, then responded to Mapplebeck, noting that he too had suffered a loss of taste.

King Charles Says He Experienced A Loss Of Taste While Undergoing Cancer Treatment

Back in February, Charles announced that he had received a cancer diagnosis subsequent to undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate. Buckingham Palace confirmed the news, but has not disclosed further details about the type of cancer.

The King, who withdrew from several public responsibilities to undergo treatment, has expressed his gratitude to all those who have conveyed their good wishes to him publicly. He even noted that many words from supporters "reduced" him "to tears."

Charles has also publicly expressed his encouragement for his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, as she undergoes preventative chemotherapy due to the discovery of cancer after her major abdominal surgery.

After Princess Kate, 42, revealed her diagnosis in a video, Charles said he was "so proud" of her for her "courage" when speaking out and spreading awareness.

Recently, her husband Prince William shared an update that Kate and their three children (Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6) are "doing well."

At the gathering this week, Charles made a grand entrance via helicopter for a ceremonial event with the Prince of Wales, 41, during which the monarch transferred command of Prince Harry's previous regiment.

The King granted the highly esteemed title of Colonel-in-Chief of The Army Air Corps to his successor at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire.
