King Charles was recently hospitalized due to “temporary side effects” from his ongoing cancer treatment, although he was discharged from The London Clinic later that same day. However, he hasn’t appeared to take it as a sign to slow down, and he has reportedly already resumed working!
As expected, those closest to him reportedly aren’t happy with his dedication to continue working, which echoes what an insider told GB News in November 2024. The insider claimed that Queen Camilla was very scared when her husband returned to work following his cancer treatment, telling the pub at the time: “She is understandably fearful her husband is rushing it. She just wants him to slow down and prioritize his health.”

King Charles Urged To Take A Step Back From Royal Duties Following Recent Hospitalization
When he was discharged from hospital earlier this month, the King, 76, seemingly followed doctors' orders and postponed his events that were slated for the following day. However, his work schedule went ahead as normal the day after!
"The trouble is, he's been so conditioned to work that I don't think he functions unless he's working," royal author Ingrid Seward told Newsweek.
"When he's not working, he's probably a bit all over the place, I know I'm like that," the My Mother and I author continued, adding: "He's always working and it's just not his nature to take an afternoon nap, which I'm sure Camilla is trying to make him do."

Royal Author Thinks Someone Else Should Take Over King Charles' More 'Boring' Royal Duties
Seward went on to outline some of the "stifling" and "boring" things the King has to do as monarch, suggesting that things might be easier – and more enjoyable – for him if someone else was to take over some of the less exciting activities.
"Cancer treatment makes you very, very tired. The trouble is it's his duty as monarch to do these stifling boring handshakes with incoming and outgoing ambassadors," Seward went on, before urging him to hand over some of his jobs so he could take a much-needed break.
She added: "How boring must that be, and I would think that's very exhausting, but the only way he could slow down is if someone took over some of his official roles as monarch. If someone could take some of that away from him, I think his life would be easier." Could this be a job for future king, Prince William, we wonder?!
