IVF, or In Vitro Fertilisation, is “a complex series of procedures used to help with fertility or prevent genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child,” according to the Mayo Clinic. And, celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen have been open about their IVF journies. Recently, one year after Kourtney and her husband Travis Barker announced plans to pause their treatments, the Keeping Up With The Kardashian star proudly showed off her changing body in a black string bikini.
Kourtney Kardashian Shows Off Her 'IVF Body' In A Black String Bikini
In the snap posted to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, May 3rd, the Poosh founder, 44, was seen embracing her "IVF body" as she lounged under the sun with friends. Kourtney donned an itty bitty black bikini, a pair of black sunglasses, and a stack of silver chained necklaces for the tropical getaway. She captioned the Instagram Story, "A little IVF body."
Throughout her IVF journey with Travis (who she wed in a gothic wedding in May 2022), Kourtney has been open about the side effects, including weight gain and menopause-like symptoms. "It hasn't been the most amazing experience," she said in a teaser for The Kardashians Hulu show. She then told her mother, Kris Jenner, "I'm, like, it's so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they're going through." Kourtney claims that she was "pushed" into doing IVF because of her age.
"If you even look anything up online about things you can do to help get pregnant...it says on there, like, 'If you're over 40'—or it might even say something younger—it says, 'Go right away,'" the reality star said on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in October 2022. "So I felt a little bit pushed."

Kourtney Kardashian Says Her Husband Is Proud Of Her IVF Body
However, that same October, Kourtney praised her "thicker body." She said that her confidence is all thanks to her husband. "Every day, Travis is like, 'You're perfect,'" Kourtney said on an episode of The Kardashians. "If I make one complaint, he's like, 'You're perfect. You're so fine...You've never been better.'"
Kourtney said that she was insecure about her weight gain at first, but that Travis was supportive of her changing body. "It's taken me a lot to get me to the place of feeling really comfortable and happy with the changes," she said. "Having a partner who is so supportive of me and always complimenting me, no matter what, it's just helped me to really embrace the changes and actually to the point where I love the changes now."
She added that she has an "amazing" butt now. Kourtney says that she has accepted the number on the scale and that she's happier than her skinnier self. "I used to be, like, 95 pounds. And then 105 became my new normal weight. I'm 115. I used to be, like, stuck on the number," Kourtney adds. "I used to always say this: When I'm super skinny, just know I'm not happy."
