Kourtney Kardashian is opening up about her infertility struggles and classily shutting down online trolls in the process. In last week’s episode of The Kardashians, The reality star, 43, sat down for an intimate conversation with her mother, Kris Jenner, 66, and the two discussed her experience with in vitro fertilization (IVF) and how her body has changed since.
The mom of three detailed her frustration with social media commenters who have been speculating she is pregnant again after she revealed that she and fiance Travis Barker, 46, were trying for a baby and beginning IVF. The Poosh founder said her journey with the procedures has been “awful,” and confessed that it “hasn’t been the most amazing experience” like it may seem for other people.

“Every single person on social media is always like, ‘Kourtney’s pregnant,'” she told her mother. “‘Kourtney’s gained so much weight.’ And I’m like, it’s so rude to comment on people when you have no idea what they’re actually going through.”
Along with weight gain, she explained that she has felt “menopause”-like symptoms from IVF as well as feeling depressed from the medication. This surprised her mom, who said that she felt her daughter had never seemed happier. Although Kourtney acknowledged that she has “everything in the world to be happy about,” she still admitted that she feels “a little bit off” at times, due to the exhausting changes to her body.
Kris then told a similar story of her own and showed how much she can relate to her daughter’s experience. “Everything you just described,” she said, “The exact same thing happened.” The Kardashian matriarch and ‘momager’ revealed that she faced similar side effects to IVF treatments and medications after she miscarried in 1994, a year before Kendall was born.
With that said, Kris supported Kourtney with more words of encouragement. She said she believes that Kourtney and Travis will have a child of their own “a year from now,” which fans on Twitter are certainly hoping for the happy couple as well.
“Thank you for opening up about the all-too-real struggles many of us face with IVF,” wrote one fan as another added, “Kourtney this episode really meant a lot to women out here who want to get pregnant but are struggling.” The next Kardashians episode will be ready to stream on Thursday, April 28 on Hulu.
