Kristin Davis is opening up about her experience with fillers and plastic surgery, and dealing with criticism over the years after getting work done. The 58-year-old Sex and the City alum sat down for a candid interview with The Telegraph and discussed Botox, lip fillers and coping with hateful comments about her appearance after going under the knife.
Coping with Criticism: Kristin Davis on Fillers and Plastic Surgery
The And Just Like That star said that she looked forward to trying Botox initially, and noted she was "super excited" at the idea of not having fine lines on her forehead. The mom of two stressed that she didn't undergo any other procedures "for a long time," until she wanted to try fillers.
"I have done fillers and it’s been good and I’ve done fillers and it’s been bad," she revealed. "I’ve had to get them dissolved and I’ve been ridiculed relentlessly. And I have shed tears about it. It’s very stressful."
When speaking about any recent surgeries, Davis told the outlet that she "can't keep it up." As a single mother, she said that she doesn't have the time. The same, she said, goes for fitness and dieting. "I just eat what the kids are eating," Davis said, adding, "It’s exhausting to make something different for myself."
The Emmy nominee also spoke about judgmental comments she received from critics when her procedures didn't bring the results that she hoped for. "You’re trusting doctors [but] people personally blame us when it goes wrong — [as if] I jabbed a needle in my face…" Davis said, specifically mentioning lip-related surgeries.
The Deadly Illusions actress went on, "No one told me it didn’t look good for the longest time, but luckily I do have good friends who did say, eventually. The thing is you don’t smile at yourself in the mirror. Who smiles at themselves in the mirror? Crazy people."
Davis will reprise her beloved role as Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the second season of the Sex and the City spin-off, And Just Like That, which premieres on Max on June 22, 2023. Last month, she shared the show's new promotional artwork in an Instagram post for her 1.2 million followers along with its latest trailer.

On June 6th, Davis celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Sex and the City pilot episode. She uploaded a series of clips from the show's legendary six seasons and wrote to fans: "It is impossible to believe it has been 25 years!"
She continued, "I consider myself the luckiest person in the world to be a part of this story that connects so many of us together. It has and continues to be a JOY! Thank you to all of you who have come along for the ride. We love you."
