Kylie Jenner Channels Elvira In A Tasseled Bra And Thigh-High Stockings For Halloween: ‘Kyvira’
November 3, 2022 by Marissa Matozzo
Kylie Jenner went all out for her Elvira: Mistress of the Dark Halloween costumes, and her hard work certainly paid off! The reality star, 25, paid homage to the classic goth character that actress Cassandra Peterson first made famous in the late 80s in two costumes. For the first, Jenner flaunted her signature curves in Elvira’s go-to outfit— an ultra-plunging, low-cut, skintight black bodysuit, sheer tights and black pumps (and possibly just won Halloween 2022).
The Kylie Cosmetics mogul uploaded three Instagram posts for her 372 million followers that gave fans a look at her full costume in all of its risqué glory from different angles. To complete her iconic horror costume, the mom of two wore her long, jet-black tresses into a super voluminous, half-up, half-down style with wispy bangs, and also re-created Elvira’s classic makeup look.
Jenner rocked thick black cat-eye liner, white liner on her waterline, shiny highlighter and rosy blush on her nose and cheekbones, and had to include her character’s timeless ruby red lipstick. The Kardashians star topped it all off with dangly silver earrings, chunky rings, studded wristlet bracelets, and a sharp, black manicure.
Jenner also paid tribute to another one of Elvira’s memorable looks— the sexy mummy-ish ensemble. She put her toned abs, thighs and décolletage on full display with the help of a push-up, bedazzled white bra with black embroidered detailing, and white string tassels that drew eyes to her epic figure.
She also added a sequined black bottom piece, garters, lacy black thigh-high stockings, as well as cut-out, sheer black sleeves for an added oomph. In her caption, Jenner wrote, “kyvira” as fans of both Jenner and Elvira expressed their love for her costumes in her comment section.
Peterson, who has portrayed the beloved character since 1988, subtly shaded Jenner in an Instagram post soon after. The actress uploaded a screenshot of Jenner’s second Elvira costume and wrote the following message over it for her 1.1 million followers in white lettering, “In a world full of Kardashians, be an Elvira.” Peterson explained to TMZ that it was “very flattering” to see Jenner dress up as her, but she had one understandable qualm with the whole thing. “It would have been even more flattering if she tagged me,” she said.
While Jenner posted several shots in costume to her Instagram, she also included some classic images of Peterson as Elvira on her Instagram Stories. Through them all, Jenner referred to herself as the “Mistress of the Dark,” “Kyvira” and even “Elvira,” but she never actually tagged the original Elvira in any of them. She did, however, tag Jack Henry, the photographer responsible for the pics, making Peterson’s request seem very manageable. Maybe next year Jenner can tag her costume inspiration?
