Kylie Jenner just let us in on some personal news. You might remember that back in September, the reality TV star-turned-makeup mogul was noticeably absent from the Balmain Spring 2020 show at Paris Fashion Week. It was an important fashion show for the 22-year-old, because her Kylie Cosmetics x Balmain makeup collaboration was planned to debut at the event.
This week, it was revealed that Jenner missed the show due to a pretty serious illness.
The topic came up in the new season 18 premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and Jenner later took to social media to clarify everything that went down surrounding the illness that made her miss the Balmain event.
Jenner responded to fan's concerns of her September 2019 illness in comments on an Instagram post by fan account @kyliesnapchat. She explained, "i had a horrible strep and staph infection in the throat (bleeding from the mouth and all) it was the sickest i've ever been."
The illness seemed like quite an ordeal for Jenner. She had been hospitalized for the infections, which are both caused by bacteria and can be very contagious.
At the time of the Balmain show in September, Jenner took to Twitter and Instagram to announce that she had to miss the event. She wrote:
"So as you know, I was getting ready to go to Paris for the Balmain show at Paris Fashion Week for the launch of my makeup collab with Olivier [Rousteing, creative director of Balmain]. Unfortunately, I'm really sick and unable to travel. I'm heartbroken to be missing this show, but I know that my amazing team, and my friends who are in town for the event, will help me be there in spirit."
