It’s sometimes easy to forget that what we see on social media – in particular, on Kardashian/Jenner accounts – isn’t always as it seems. Whether it’s superimposing people into pictures when they weren’t even there, changing the background of pictures, and of course, altering their appearance one way or another, we’re not surprised by anything anymore! And the latest case in point is Kylie Jenner and some truly unrecognizable pictures of herself that haven’t been given her usual Photoshopping and filtering treatment!
The 24-year-old billionaire is known to post some truly breath-taking pictures on social media, although it’s becoming increasingly more obvious that some of them seem to be quite far from reality in so many ways. Although (just like older sister Kim Kardashian) she still looks great sans makeup, as proven when she is snapped with a bare face and casual clothes, the stark contrast in her Instagram vs reality pictures hasn’t gone unnoticed. In fact, there are many social media pages dedicated to celebrity before and after pictures, including @celebbeforeafter, which had some truly jaw-dropping examples!

Some of the pictures show side by side comparisons of the mom-of-two in real life next to similar pictures she posted on social media – and some of them are truly unbelievable! And it isn’t just her face that appears dramatically different, as some of the images show that the Kylie Cosmetics founder – or whoever is in charge of posting pictures to her social media – has edited her body shape too!
As expected, the comments section was *full* of opinions about the unbelievable transformation. “Not even the same person,” one person commented. “Not even she can live up to the standard she’s created, and that’s also pretty sad. She’s so young,” another added. “Girls wanna look like Kylie even Kylie doesn’t look like herself,” noted another.
The comments didn’t stop there! "When your face isn't really your face," said another, while other fans thought that Kylie's extreme photo editing was "sad." One fan wrote, "She doesn't want people to know how she looks in real life, including herself. Sad, really. " And another added, "Too many fillers at such a young age. Her face looks way puffy. Should have left it alone." "I'm sorry all I can think about is how on lipstick alley they call her katfish Jenner because she doesn’t look like her Instagram photos," quipped another IG user.
However, some Kylie stans turned up to defend her in the comments section, with one saying, "Beautiful in Any way," followed by a red heart emoji, and several others urging people to remember that she has just had a baby. Others also noted that some of the pictures on the Instagram post were taken by other people and at unflattering angles, which is bound to make a person look different to pictures they took and posted themselves.
"Tbh it's normal to look different without makeup, also to look different on a candid picture that was taken by someone else..." one fan wrote. "You have to understand right, she just had a baby," another fan wrote in her defense, to which someone replied with, "It's not a point. Nobody bodyshame her. The clue is she posted something different in her SM. It's ok to have curves, to be tired, not perfect. But why you create something even you can't live up?"
