It's no secret that there are so many options to choose from when shopping for your wedding dress. You Forget To Keep An Open Mind

You may have a good idea of the style of dress that you want even before you step foot into a bridal shop. While that's perfectly okay, you should also keep an open mind when choosing your wedding dress. You never know how a dress of a different style or material may surprise you! You can even try on different styles of lace dresses to see which one you like the most.

You Forget To Book Dress Fittings Early

Picking a lace wedding dress is just half the battle. Meticulous alterations are super important when it comes to lace dresses-- so make sure your tailor is someone that you trust. You should also make sure to book your dress fittings as early as possible since lace dresses are so delicate and time-consuming.

You Forget That Alterations May Take Longer

Since lace dresses are time-consuming, it may take your tailor a bit longer to properly fit your dress to your body. You may require both extra fittings and longer fittings so that your lace wedding dress fits like a glove. It's always best to make a mental note that your alterations may take longer than a dress of a different material would. Also remember, hemming and taking in a lace dress may also take away from some of its original design.

You Forget That Alterations May Be More Expensive

With that said, more work done to a delicate lace dress may mean that your alterations will also be more expensive. Luckily, many bridal shops also do alterations. If that's the case for you, ask your shop's tailors for an estimate of how much alterations might cost before you make your final decision. It's always crucial that you factor in your alteration costs when you make your wedding dress budget.

You Forget To Store The Dress Delicately

Make sure that you have lots of open space to store your wedding dress before the big day. You don't want to cram your dress in a closet or place it in a room where people are costantly in and out. It's also important to keep your dress off of a hanger to prevent it from tearing at your lace design. If possible, store your lace dress in a guest room so that it stays safe and undamaged.

You Forget To Lay The Dress Flat

A guest room makes for a great place to store your lace wedding dress since it offers a space to lay your dress flat on a bed. This guarantees that your dress won't move around a lot or lose its shape. You definitely want it to fit you the way it did at your last fitting on your big day. Always give extra thought to how to store your dress before your wedding, especially if you chose a lace dress.
