Lizzo's 60-lb Weight Loss

Staying active is of course important when you're trying to lose weight, but just as important is your diet. Lizzo revealed on Instagram that one of her priorities in terms of her diet is incorporating "more protein." To do this, she's transitioned from being a strict vegan to eating some animal-based proteins. "After tests and research, I found that animal proteins helped me have more energy, lose weight, and helped with my mental fog," she explained.

One of the ways she incorporates protein into her diet is with a high protein breakfast, and one of her favorite recipes is cacio e pepe eggs. She shared a video of herself making the breakfast dish on TikTok, explaining to fans that after she works out, this is her "first meal of the day."

Cacio E Pepe Eggs Recipe

Lizzo shared a whole video of her cooking process to her page, but we've copied it below in case you want to try it yourself!

Ingredients:

  • whole peppercorns
  • Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1/2 tablespoon of butter
  • 2 organic eggs
  • 1/2 cup egg whites
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Toast some whole peppercorns in a pan on high heat. Once fragrant, add Parmesan cheese to the pan and stir in water until combined into a sauce. Set aside.
  2. In the same pan, melt the butter. While it's melting, combine the eggs, egg whites, and some salt, then add the mixture to the pan and scramble.
  3. Once the eggs are cooked, remove from heat and pour the cheese sauce over the eggs, stirring to combine.
  4. Finish with pepper and grated Parmesan to taste. Enjoy!
