Lori Loughlin is putting the college admissions scandal behind her. According to court documents obtained by ET, the Fuller House actress was granted a request to get her passport back after finishing the remainder of her sentence, completing her court-ordered community service and paying the $150,000 fine.
Now that she’s looking ahead, there’s a lot to consider–especially when it comes to the future of her acting career.
Earlier this month, Loughlin completed her court-mandated community service at Project Angel Food, an organization that prepares and delivers healthy meals to people impacted by serious illness.
Brad Bessey, Project Angel Food's Head of Communications, had nothing but good things to say about the actress. He told ET, "A court cannot order the level of excellence, hard work, and kindness Lori Loughlin brought to her community service at Project Angel Food preparing and delivering life-saving meals to critically ill people."
By putting this behind her, Loughlin is ready to look forward to the future. However, it remains uncertain if the actress will be welcomed back to the Hollywood spotlight. Although her daughter, Olivia Jade, seems to have been mostly forgiven for her role in the college admissions scandal, Lori will likely have a more difficult time.
An insider told the outlet that the actress is hopeful but unsure what her future will look like, explaining, "[Lori] would love to start working again one day, but she is scared people won't work with her."
Another source told Hollywood Life that Loughlin has been trying to "lay low" for now with the hope of getting back to work in the future. The insider explained, "Lori is very hopeful everything will all be behind her in 2021. That’s why she’s tried to just lay as low as possible [since being released from jail]. She’s so ready to move on from all of this."
According to this source, Loughlin "would love to act again, but when the time is right."
"She’s ready to do it because she misses it and it’s her passion, but she also feels like more time needs to go by still for everyone to move on. But that is her overall goal in due time. She wants to return to some normalcy now that she’s served her time," the insider explained.
