The high-profile defendants in the scandal, "Full House" actress Lori Loughlin her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli, were finally sentenced for their role in bribing prestigious University of Southern California to accept their two daughter, Olivia Jade and Isabella.

After the Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton handed out the sentences, which were in line with terms of the plea deals the couple were offered months ago, Loughlin forced back tears on Zoom as she apologized for her involvement in the scam.

"I made an awful decision," Loughlin said. "I went along with a plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college admissions process and in doing so I ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass. I have great faith in God, and I believe in redemption and I will do everything in my power to redeem myself and use this experience as a catalyst to do good.”

Her attorney BJ Trach said she is “profoundly sorry” for her actions and described the “devastating” impact the charges have had on her career.

“Lori lost the acting career she spent 40 years building,” he said. He said her actions were "completely out of character" for who she is. Hm--do you buy it?
