Machine Gun Kelly made a welcome appearance on the Tuesday, November 19th episode of The Voice as Gwen Stefani‘s playoff advisor, which saw him offering performance tips to the contestants.
And one emotional comment the 34-year-old “Lonely Road” singer made to Season 26 contestant Jake Tankersley during rehearsals stood out the most, as he asked the musician to “tap into his charm,” to quote E! News, and think about his “wife and kids” while singing.
“You have a good smile, so maybe crack a smile on that and let people know they can be close to you,” MGK, real name Colson Baker, advised. “When you have any moment when there is no lyrics though, because there is so many words, step away from the mic and play your guitar,” he continued.
The Good Mourning actor went on to say: “It’s all about the feel. You have a wife and kids, they bring the color to your life so it’s all feel.” And the “Hollaback Girl” singer wholeheartedly agreed, adding: “I love that. I think everything about this performance is just gonna be you selling that story emotionally.”
