Priming The Skin
Getting your skin ready for the application of makeup is essential not only for hiding fine lines and wrinkles, but also for reducing the appearance of dry patches which may further exacerbate any dullness in your appearance. Starting your skin off with a primer will provide an even base for your makeup, particularly around the eyes, paving the way for smoothing out crow’s feet.
“Hydration is key,” notes Baker. “Use a great moisturizer and primer like Glamazon Beauty's Mystical Veil Face Primer which happens to be a moisturizer and face primer in one step. I also recommend liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer. These products bring hydration to the eye area.” Starting off with a nice, hydrated base will prevent the product from sinking into the cracks of your skin, ultimately creating a more even complexion and minimizing crow’s feet.
Hydrating Concealer
Using concealer to mask crow’s feet around the eyes is one of the best tricks, and doubling down on hydration will only work to improve your skin even outside of your makeup routine. “I recommend using a great concealer that hydrates while it conceals,” says Baker. When it comes to applying your concealer or foundation, Baker suggests putting the product onto your complexion in upward strokes so as not to tug on your skin. “When applying your [product], apply in an upward circular motion, you never want to apply in a downward motion that would be tugging and pulling on the skin. Think onward and upward.”
Go Light On The Powder
Setting your face with powder will allow the makeup to stay put all day, effectively hiding crow’s feet, but it’s important to not go too heavy-handed when it comes to applying powder. “I recommend if you like pressed powder use a blurring pressed powder lightly, just dusting over your skin! Glamazon Beauty Perfect Press Powder is one that women love even when opting not to wear foundation at all,” explains Baker.
A light dusting will allow the product to set without looking cakey or heavy, which may cause your face makeup to set into the fine lines of your face and actually make you appear older. Instead, a light dusting of loose or pressed powder will sit atop the skin, smoothing out wrinkles with ease.
