In a viral video, Mariah Carey dazzles in a stunning, form-fitting gold dress during her performance. However, the clip (shared by fans on February 13th) has sparked a mix of reactions from her fans. Many are worried about the “Hero” singer’s health, as she appears to move quite slowly in extremely high heels while on stage.

Comparisons to Wendy Williams‘ recent actions have been made, but there are also plenty of admirers praising the “Always Be My Baby” artist’s sense of fashion. Carey’s supporters are quick to defend her, pointing out that the Grammy winner, 55, has never been one to energetically dash around the stage during her performances.

Mariah Carey Stuns In A Figure-Hugging Gold Corset On Stage As Fans Defend Her ‘Concerning’ Performance

One fan in the comments section referred to Carey as an “icon” as another noted that she is “human” after others criticized her low-energy concert. Someone else stressed that viewers should “be kind.” Another noted, “It’s important to remember that Mariah is courageously navigating the challenges of bipolar disorder.”

The commenter continued, “Her medication dosage may just be high right now because of depression and still grieving the death of her mother and sister but the show must go on. Have Grace! She’s a legend and has been doing this for a long time.”

This comes after Carey caused quite a stir among her fans when a video of her Las Vegas performance last month was shared on social media last week. The clip showed her delivering a lackluster show, far from her usual vibrant self.

The “Emotions” hitmaker’s actions seemed sluggish as she engaged with her backup dancer and sang a medley of different songs. The fan-captured video sparked concern, with some wondering if Carey was feeling unwell and likening her slow pace and movements to those of former President Joe Biden.

Beneath the clip (uploaded by @gsxr_freak02 on February 6th), one user commented: “I love Mariah but that gave me Joe Biden vibes.” Another added: “By all means move at a glacial pace.” Someone else replied: “Omg is she ok?” as an additional fan wondered, “is she in pain? What is going on?” One chimed in: I’m a little worried about my Mimi,” as another concurred: “Is she ok? Or am I watching in slow motion.”

Carey was dressed in a bubblegum, corseted pink bodysuit paired with a see-through, sultry dress and darker pink heels. Carey ultimately concerned her fans as she hardly moved on stage. Her dancer, holding her hand and dancing in front of her, made it appear as though the “All I Want For Christmas Is You” artist was having difficulty walking.

After the backup dancer sprinted across the stage, the mom of two (who shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 13, with ex Nick Cannon) trailed behind him, moving very slowly. Another fan stressed: “she can hardly move,” as one other asked: “Is this a real performance or the dress rehearsal?”

Carey has not yet addressed the incident that sparked worries among her supporters, nor has she responded to their remarks. She just wrapped up her series of performances in Las Vegas, known as the Celebration of Mimi. This event celebrated the anniversary of her 2005 album, The Emancipation of Mimi. The residency, featuring a total of 24 shows, kicked off in April 2024 and concluded on February 15th.
