Mariska Hargitay can’t catch a break when it comes to her health! The actress just revealed that she suffered a broken ankle over Fourth of July weekend – just after recovering from a previous leg injury.
The actress broke her ankle while in the Hamptons for the holiday weekend. She had been attending a screening of the new Black Widow premiere, and slipped on wet pavement.
After her fall, Hargitay was taken to Southampton Hospital by ambulance, with her husband Peter Hermann accompanying her. She had to stay at the hospital for several hours.
Hargitay even missed the after party for the event, which was hosted at her own home.
Shortly after the accident, Hargitay was already ready to joke about the ordeal. She shared a photo on Instagram, showing her injured left foot in an ankle brace while she wore a sherpa-lined sandal on the other foot.
"My summer look," she captioned the post.
Back in May, Hargitay had injured the same leg. She explained on Instagram that she had broken her knee, fractured her ankle and tore a ligament. She did not share how she sustained these injuries, but she assured fans that it did not happen on set for Law And Order: Special Victims Unit.
It seems that Hargitay has been recovering well, as she continues to update her followers on Instagram. In one recent photo, she shows a bouquet of flowers sent by a friend, and in another she shows her new office set-up keeping her leg elevated.
