McDonald’s Announces 10% Menu Price Hike This Year As Customers Continue To Call For A Boycott: ‘They’re Greedy’

Customers have been calling out McDonald’s for their increased menu prices for months now, maybe even years, yet the fast food chain shows no signs of lowering prices—or even keeping them the same. In a recent earnings call, McDonald’s announced that menu prices have increased 10% this year alone, and that’s on top of the 10% price increase reported from 2022. Keep reading for more information.
McDonald’s Announces 10% Price Increase In 2023McDonald’s is not alone in its raising of menu prices. Fast food establishments like Burger King, Wendy’s, Chipotle, and more have been raising their menu prices as well. While some claim the price increases are necessary to keep up with inflation, new federal data from early December shows that inflation is slowing, yet fast food price increases don’t seem to be.
In its most recent earnings call, McDonald’s executives announces that it expects to have raised menu prices by 10% this year. That’s on top of a 10% increase in menu prices that occurred in 2022. Will 2024 bring another 10%?
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that fast food prices overall have jumped 6.2% over the past 12 months, which is not a good sign. While it may have been understandable when restaurants were recovering from COVID-19, or responding to inflation, customers are now furious, and calling for a boycott of the fast food chain.
