There’s a lot of debate as to what type of meal we should have for breakfast. Most nutritionists will tell you that you should eat a healthy meal with plenty of protein, fiber and good fats to keep your metabolism strong throughout the day and deliver energy throughout your body – while many people believe that if you’re going to indulge in something unhealthy, the morning is the best time to do it so you give yourself plenty of time to burn it off.
But no matter what you do, you should never go to McDonald's for your breakfast because it is the most unhealthy meal on the fast food chain's menu.
The breakfast dishes from McDonald's tend to outweigh the chain's lunch and dinner options in terms of carbs, calories and fat. While eating fats and carbs in the morning isn't the worst mistake you can make, the breakfasts at McDonald's really have an excessive amount of these harmful ingredients.
The worst example on the McDonald's menu is the Big Breakfast Platter with hotcakes and a biscuit, which contains half your daily recommended caloric intake and all of your daily recommended fat intake. This means that ordering this breakfast dish guarantees that you will overeat for the day.
If you ever feel like you really need to indulge in McDonald's, skip the breakfast and order something for lunch. It's better for you to have a healthy breakfast and indulge for lunch.
