The fast food chain just announced that it will be delaying the reopening of their dining rooms due to the massive surge in coronavirus cases across the U.S. We’re so surprised that it has come to this.

As the U.S. struggles to keep cases down amid states reopening business and public places, the company revealed that it is pumping the breaks on earlier plans of opening the sit-in dining experience at thousands of locations across the country.
Joe Erlinger, McDonald's U.S. president and Mark Salebra, head of the National Franchisee Leadership Alliance, stated that, "Our resiliency will be tested again," as "COVID-19 cases are on the rise—with a 65 [percent] increase in infections over the last two weeks. In the last seven days, 32 states saw increasing cases and this number appears to be growing." Yikes!

This is an unexpected setback considering that the company just announced last week that it would be re-adding menu items that were cut due to coronavirus.
There is a bright spot, though: reps confirmed that McDonald's will revisit the possibility of re-opening a three week timeline. Stay tuned!
