McDonald’s is going viral again, but not for good reason—again. With years of complaints about the rising menu prices piling up, the fast food chain just dropped their new “deal” on Chicken McNuggets, but don’t seem to be listening to their customers. According to TikTok user @Shannon_Montipaya, the newest addition to the McDonald’s menu is a 40-piece Chicken McNugget meal bundle, which also includes a two large orders of fries. However, this will cost you a pretty penny–at least in McDonald’s pricing. Keep reading for all the details.
The meal bundle, which includes two large fries and 40 Chicken McNuggets, costs $25.39, and with sales tax, it brought Shannon’s total to roughly $27. Who’s ever heard of paying that much at McDonald’s? “OK, so it’s $25.39f or 40-piece nuggets and two large fries,” Shannon narrated in her TikTok video. “You couldn’t even throw in the Sprite? You couldn’t even throw in, like, a medium Sprite in there? Holy crap!”
For context, a recent study by FinanceBuzz found that McDonald’s prices have increased by an unbelievable 100% since 2014. Yes, you read that right. McDonald’s has increased its menu prices by 100% in the last 10 years. In 2014, the average price of a 10-piece Chicken McNugget meal, which included 10 Chicken McNuggets, a medium order of fries, and a medium fountain drink, was $5.99. Now, that same order usually goes for about $11.
