Eight months ago, McDonald’s promised to deliver a bigger, more satisfying burger—the Big Mac just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Well, after months of research and testing, the new burger is here. That’s right, the Big Arch is officially on McDonald’s menus worldwide. Keep reading to learn all about the Big Mac’s more delicious older brother.

McDonald's Introduces the Big Arch

During its annual investor meeting in December 2023, McDonald's previewed its plans for a bigger, more filling burger, at the request of customers who want something that fills them up but isn't too pricey.

And now, the Big Arch is finally seeing the light of day. "We think we're going to be able to deliver a great tasting large burger at a superior value to what [customers] can get anywhere else," McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski said in December. And boy did they deliver.

The Big Arch features two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of white processed cheese, crispy onions, pickles, lettuce, and the new Big Arch sauce, which adds a tangy flavor to the mix. The difference between the Big Arch and the Big Mac lies in the size of the burgers—and the sauce of course. Each sporting their own sauces, the Big Mac has two of the smaller beef patties that McDonald's offers, while the Big Arch has the quarter pound patties. And this not-too-pricey price? While it varies by location, it seems like the Big Arch meal (Big Arch plus a drink and a side of fries) will run customers bout $9.

Customers Welcome McDonald's New Burger

Customers are already excited for the Big Arch to hit cities near them, writing on social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter, "Outstanding addition to the menu," and "This is everything the Big Mac is missing!"

"I'm not one to hop on the bandwagon," one person wrote in a tweet, "but it exceeded all my expectations. Delicious and satisfying!"

"Seriously the best burger McDonald's has ever made," added another customer.

"A masterpiece," wrote one person. "That's all I'm gonna say."

"Big Arch > Big Mac," a final customer posted. "I said what I said."
