Oreo Frappés return to McDonald's
If the Strawberry McFlurry isn't your thing, maybe you'll like this. Those who love sweet, caffeinated treats (despite the health risks) can rejoice now that McDonald's is bringing this creamy, frozen drink back to participating restaurants. This McCafe item first debuted back in 2015—but only for a very limited time.
Luckily, we don't have to wait much longer till we can pull up to the drive thru and order one of these cold delicacies on a hot summer day. The Fast Food Post reports that it will be back on the menu across the country starting May 17, 2023. Mark your calendars!
Fans on Reddit are already gearing up: "Lets gooo," one wrote.
"I used to work at McDonald's when this first came out, and it was the only menu item I wanted to spend money on. Couldn't get enough!" another proclaimed.
If you're not familiar with what, exactly, an Oreo Frappé entails, we'll break it down for you: This beverage gives you everything you love about a Frappé (mocha coffee frappé base, crushed ice, whipped cream, you know the drill) and adds pieces of our favorite chocolatey cookie. It even features cookies and cream syrup, and it's all topped off with a dusting of Oreo cookie crumbs. Yum! This sounds tasty enough to give even the limited time drinks at Dunkin' a run for their money.
According to The Fast Food Post, some restaurants will even serve this coffee-slash-dessert with a whole Oreo cookie. Jackpot.
Unfortunately, this drink will only be around for a limited time (just like the Big Mac Dipping Sauce), so enjoy while you can! We know we'll be making plenty of stops at McDonald's for an Oreo Frappé this summer.
