McDonald’s Customer Complains Of $30 Charge For Breakfast Order
@xxxjamdizzle2.oxxx, who’s profile name is Jammie Kathryn, ordered from McDonald’s late last year and posted a video of the final price of her breakfast order. For 2 Sausage Egg & Cheese McGriddles, 1 Sausage Egg McMuffin, and 3 orders of hash browns, the fast food chain charged her $30.36.
In shock, Jammie Kathryn posted a video of the drive thru screen with the words “McDonald’s be price gouging the s*** outta their s***,” and the video now has over 3.4M views on TikTok.
McDonald’s is one of the many fast food chains that have been raising their menu prices for years at this point, often claiming inflation as the reasoning behind the new prices. however, federal data from last December shows that inflation is slowing, yet fast food price increases don’t seem to be.
In its most recent earnings call, McDonald’s executives announces that it expects to have raised menu prices by 10% in 2023. That’s on top of a 10% increase in menu prices that occurred in 2022. Does this mean another 10% in 2024?
Customers Slam McDonald's For Absurd Prices
The viral video now has over 6,000 comments from customers expressing their outrage at the chain's absurd prices and reminiscing on days when McDonald's wasn't so expensive. "Remember when they would do 2 hashbrowns for $1?" asked one user.
"I can't get over the price of a single hashbrown," another user agreed. "They're TRIPPIN!"
"Y'all: PLEASE STOP GOING TO MCDONALDS," one McDonald's boycott supporter commented. "If for no other reason than to prove to them we don't need them! They do this cuz they know ppl will still go!!!"
"What happened to the dollar menu???" another customer asked.
"Where's the nearest Walmart at this point," one person said. "12 pack of hashbrowns for less than $5 there."
"I don't get why they just keep raising their prices knowing peoples wages are not keeping up with it, so they want less customers??" one confused customer said.
"They've gotten so expensive now," a final user wrote. "All these fast food places, not just McDonald's."
