McDonald’s is making changes to their dollar menu once again amid the surging inflation—and customers are definitely not happy about it.

According to a recent article published by Eat This, Not That!, “The Wall Street Journal reports that many locations have decided to quietly remove soda and other cold beverages from the Dollar Menu.” As a result, customers are left with limited options when it comes to what they can buy for a buck at the fast food chain.

Consumers had a lot to say about this price change, and voiced out their thoughts on social media. One user said, “McDonald’s drinks aren’t a dollar anymore? I’ve officially had it” while another one posted, “The only reason I have EVER gone to McDonald’s was because of their 1 dollar drinks. @McDonalds y’all just lost a lot of the people that only go for your drinks.”

The Insider reports, “Sixteen of McDonald’s ownership co-ops among its 56 US markets have voted to advertise the restaurant chain’s value menu instead of dollar drinks in order to phase out the promotion, according to the Journal. Many of these locations have begun charging more money for medium and large beverages, despite the parent company’s recommendation that the $1 beverage offering remains in place.”

Additionally, the outlet says, “Sodas and other cold drinks of any size have been an offering on McDonald’s dollar menu nationwide year round since at least 2017, according to the Journal. Before 2017, the $1 drinks promotion was offered in the US at various times throughout the year since 2008.”

The dollar drinks will surely be missed! Fingers crossed that it makes a comeback real soon.
