As if mac and cheese wasn’t enough of a meal on its own, McDonald’s Korea has gone ahead and combined it with a fried chicken breast patty, some spice and a bun. Their new “Spicy Mac and Cheese Burger” might be one of the more um, unexpected, menu additions for 2021 so far. Here’s everything you know about this fully-loaded sandwich.

Spicy Mac and Cheese Burger

Mac and cheese may be a popular North American dish, but diners in Korea will be the ones to be able to enjoy the new menu offering in select restaurants now through November 24th. Ordered alone or with a combo meal, this sandwich features a fried chicken patty topped with cayenne-spiced mac and cheese made with Grana Padano and cheddar cheese. Yum!

But that's not all--the fast food chain added some crispy bacon to really take things up a notch. I mean, I loved mac and cheese as a kid (and still enjoy Kraft dinner when I'm that hungover as an adult), but even this is a little too much. My arteries heart just hearing about it. And that's probably why the Chicago-based chain decided *not* to roll it out in the U.S., where they've faced ongoing public demands to make their menu more healthy.

According to the McDonald's website, the sandwich clocks in at 625 calories, 7 grams of saturated fat and 1,272 grams of sodium. Eep! But that's not the only jaw-dropping item that was recently added to menus abroad; the Shrimp Onion Burger, which feature real shrimp and crispy onion, and a Triple Cheeseburger are all listed as "new" on the website. Got an appetite now?
