It’s always sad to see our favorite fast food items discontinued, but in most situations, it’s true what they say: time (and mouthwatering new menu additions) heals all.
However, there’s one McDonald’s item that none of us has ever really been able to move on from: the beloved Snack Wraps. Despite rumors of a return, we haven’t seen it in years. As it turns out, though, there could be a new chicken wrap on the horizon at the golden arches: a rendition of the soon-to-roll-out McCrispy. But many customers aren’t on board. Find all of the info below.
McDonald's to roll out various McCrispys, including a wrap
According to USA Today, McDonald's is looking to bring more chicken to their menu. In an announcement last week, the chain revealed that they'll soon debut the McCrispy across the globe; it's set to be available around the world by the end of 2025.
And it sounds like there's something new in store for those of us who have already been able to enjoy the McCrispy in the United States, too. People who have a Snack Wrap-shaped hole in their heart may be happy to hear that the company also hopes to "expand McCrispy into wraps and tenders as well."
McDonald's refers to the OG McCrispy as a "southern-style friend chicken sandwich" on a toasted potato roll, featuring crinkle-cut pickles. It's almost enough to give Chick-fil-A a run for their money!
This sandwich was first launched in October 2022, and is currently available in Spicy, Deluxe, and Spicy Deluxe varieties as well. But the prospect of McCrispy wraps and tenders is new. Unfortunately, though, not all customers are excited about it—or about the McCrispy in general.
"Have had it at least 5-6 times total and it's bad every time, regardless of location," one person on Reddit said about the McCrispy.
"Nope. It doesnt work unless they bring back the chicken selects with the original breading recipe," someone else chimed in.
"Man I miss snack wraps," another lamented. All in all, customers are reminiscing on the chicken items of McDonald's past, including the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich and Southern Style Chicken Sandwich.
But what do you think? Is the McCrispy tasty—and will it make a tasty wrap? Or is there simply no competition for the Snack Wraps that make us so nostalgic? Let us know in the comments!
And remember: When the going gets tough, there's always chicken wraps from Wendy's.
