Megan Fox Calls Her Fans A ‘Bunch Of Psychos’ After Garnering Backlash For Sharing A GoFundMe Link On Instagram

Megan Fox made headlines last week after addressing allegations of, as she put it, “being miserly or lacking generosity.” The Jennifer’s Body alum, 37, recently shared a GoFundMe page set up by her friend Brittney Boyce, to help Boyce’s ailing father. Fox encouraged her followers to donate to it.
Backlash came from fans on Twitter and Reddit almost immediately, as they noticed that the Transformers actress hadn’t contributed to the GoFundMe donations, herself (at least with her full name, that is). Fox posted an impassioned response to her critics in an Instagram story post soon after.
“Hey weirdos,” Fox wrote. “Do any of you have the emotional intelligence to consider that maybe [Boyce] doesn’t want her celebrity clients donating large sums of money to her because it creates a dynamic in her working relationships that makes her uncomfortable?”
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star stressed that Boyce asked Fox to share a link to “Michael’s Medical Expenses” fundraiser, created to assist Boyce’s father in covering medical costs after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
“I just obliged her request,” the mom of three continued in her message to fans, days after sharing the GoFundMe link. “Anything she needs from me personally she will ask and [I] will do it privately. One thing you’re not going to accuse me of is being miserly or lacking generosity.” Fox concluded: “So try again on another day (probably [tomorrow]!) with some different bulls—t you bunch of psychos.”
Even under Fox’s most recent IG posts, however, fans in the comment sections are still calling her out for the whole thing. On July 26th, Fox shared stunning images of herself donning a curve-hugging, striped orange maxi dress. One user commented: “Did you seriously post a go fund me for your friends dad for 30,000! I always adored you but you could have paid that yourself! Happy I’m not your “friend” Disgusting.” Another replied: “I was thinking the same thing.”
Boyce is a manicurist who has established Nails of LA, a business selling press-on nail extensions and wraps. In the GoFundMe link description, she wrote that her father is “the best person, dad, husband & grandpa.” She added: “He picked up his first prescription yesterday and it wasn’t covered by insurance… My goal here is to help him [with] medical expenses so he can focus on himself and not the stress on finances.”
On July 24th, Fox shared a screenshot of the GoFundMe page with her 21.3 million followers, adding the caption: “If you guys are able to help please do.” The Expend4bles star’s ultimate goal, she said a few days later, was to encourage her fans to “donate small amounts of money to help them reach their goal,” allegedly per Boyce’s wishes.
