Meghan Markle’s family has not held back on the criticism of the 40-year-old duchess since she became involved with the royal family, and while up until this point it has primarily been her father leading the charge, Markle’s half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. is now also making inflammatory claims about his estranged sister. In a new trailer for the upcoming Australian game show, “Big Brother VIP,” Markle Jr. spoke on his sister’s rise to fame, calling the Duchess of Sussex “shallow.”
In a scathing preview for the show, Markle Jr. revealed, “I told Prince Harry, ‘I think she’s going to ruin your life. She’s very shallow.’” The 55-year-old half sibling of Markle will be appearing on the show “Big Brother VIP” as a celebrity contestant, with the show set to air later this year.
This is not the first time that Markle Jr. has spoken ill of his sister, and back in 2018 he penned a dramatic letter to Prince Harry urging him not to marry Markle. The letter read, “It’s not too late, Meghan Markle is obviously not the right woman for you. As more time passes to your royal wedding, it became very clear that this is the biggest mistake in royal wedding history.”
However, following the letter, Markle Jr. spoke out in 2020, publicly urging his sister to reconcile with their father, apologizing for the “last three years of bad press.” At the time he had said, “I think seriously what should happen is that Meghan should actually just seriously get off her high horse, call her father, make amends.”
It’s clear that Markle Jr. has changed his mind about a reunion as the “Big Brother VIP” trailer was released on Twitter, with the 55-year-old bragging about telling Prince Harry that Meghan would ruin his life, after exclaiming that he was the “biggest brother of them all.” It’s unlikely that’s the last Markle Jr. has to say about his sister--and it’s also no wonder they’re estranged.
