Fans Say Meghan Markle’s ‘Unflattering’ Column Skirt She Wore In NYC Looks Like A ‘Tablecloth’

While Meghan Markle has received praise for her fashion choices on her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, her recent nighttime look didn’t quite hit the mark with fans.
The Duchess recently attended a performance of Gypsy on Broadway before enjoying a meal with friends in NYC. She played with patterns in a chic black-and-white ensemble, featuring a stunning houndstooth skirt from Carolina Herrera.

Meghan Markle Wears A Houndstooth Skirt
She completed the look with black suede pumps from Aquazzura and kept her makeup minimal, allowing her natural beauty to shine. Her hair was styled down with a simple center part, adding to the effortlessly elegant vibe.
However, critics were not impressed with her choice of outfit as they shared their opinions on Reddit:
"That skirt is HORRIBLE. Wearing that pattern in something that long is hideous."
"It would be better as a mini-skirt or pencil skirt. Too much pattern for a long skirt."
"So nice of her to wear a tablecloth in case anyone felt like an impromptu picnic."
"The skirt is awful—she has terrible taste. unflattering."
"You don't wear houndstooth in the spring and summer."
"That skirt! Houndstooth, or herringbone patterns, are generally worn only during winter months. She can’t even get this detail right."

Meghan Markle Has Date Night With Friends In NYC
The mother of two was closely escorted by security as she entered the theater, accompanied by former Secret Service agents, according to Page Six. She attended a 2-hour-and-40-minute revival of Gypsy, directed by six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald.
Meghan clearly enjoyed the show, as she wrote a long and heartfelt caption on Instagram along with some BTS photos with the cast and crew.
"If you get a chance to see @gypsybway, you absolutely must. Congratulations to the tremendously talented cast and crew for creating magic on that stage. And meeting @audramcdonald for the first time last night…. Her performance will leave you absolutely speechless. Full body chills. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, and if the theater didn’t have to close for the night, the standing ovation would still be happening," she wrote.
