As the world watches the new Duke and Dutchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry exchange vows on May 19, there’s so much to be excited about we’re not even sure where to start. From Meghan Markle’s perfect tiara to her stunning wedding gown, it’s like watching a royal fairytale unfold right before our eyes.
Meghan and Harry said I do this morning at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The former Suits actress’s gorgeous wedding look was far more modern than the classic long-sleeve lace gown Kate Middleton wore.
The bride’s wedding day makeup, and of course, her wedding day hairdo were also a big topic of discussion.
Meghan Markle’s Wedding Day Hairstyle
Much to everyone’s surprise, Meghan chose to wear her hair in her usual, favorite hairstyle–a messy bun! The messy bun is Meghan’s to-go hairstyle. She often wore her hair in this way for public outings with Prince Harry so there is no surprise there. However, this messy bun is topped with a dazzling diamond tiara.
Everything We Know About Meghan Markle’s Bridal Hairdo
Meghan Markle’s Wedding Day Hair Stylist
Up until this morning, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were keeping nearly every detail about their upcoming wedding a total secret. We weren't sure if she would choose an updo or hair her long locks down.
Meghan hired celebrity hairstylist Miguel Perez to create her gorgeous wedding hair, reports Harper’s Bazaar. Perez is a Spanish native who works at the exclusive Salon Sloane in Chelsea, London.
Now, here’s where things get interesting: Perez is also Amal Clooney’s hairdresser. The attorney (and George Clooney’s better half) introduced him to Meghan and the rest was history.
"I do her colour, her cut and her styling,” Perez told the Mail, as reported by The Sun.

Miguel Perez’s Trademark Hair
As a super talented and creative hair genius, Meghan Markle has chosen Miguel Perez as her wedding day hairstylist. Perez can create any look imaginable but Meghan still wnated to go with her classic messy bun.
Amal Clooney, who's arguably Perez's most famous celeb client, is a walking, breathing advertisement for long, loose, glossy hair with subtle waves and tons of volume. While he also created the most adorable and sweet braids for British celebrity Millie Mackintosh on her wedding day, most of his looks for Meghan so far (at her many appearances) have included natural straight or slightly wavy hair. His styles are almost always down with the exception of a few chic chignons thrown in for good measure.
A bit of snooping around on Perez’s Instagram also confirms that he can do, well, anything—from regal updos adorned with crystal headbands to slick wet hair that probably took hours to perfect (and perfect it, he did).
How Will Meghan Wear Her Hair On Her Wedding Day?
Meghan’s hair preferences are simple. She’s an all-down or all-up kind of girl (with a few pretty tendrils framing her face). Unlike her future sister-in-law Kate Middleton, who wore a half-up-half-down hairdo on her wedding day to Prince William, that doesn’t appear to be Meghan’s style.
