Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have received an invitation to spend Christmas with the late Princess Diana’s family in the U.K., but they have reportedly *not* received the same invitation from King Charles and the royal family.
It’s still unclear where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their two children will be spending Christmas this year (although it’s pretty safe to say it won’t be with the royal family!) but it’s likely to be emotional for them either way, as their years-long feud with the royal family is still ongoing.
Meghan Markle Talks About The Holidays As She Hosts A Pre-Thanksgiving Event Without Prince Harry
The 43-year-old American Riviera Orchard founder touched upon the "emotion" that the holidays inevitably bring up for people when she hosted a dinner for the Southern California Welcome Project through the Archewell Foundation without Prince Harry last month.
"From my standpoint, I think part of why we wanted to make sure we had this opportunity to all be together is that as the holidays come up, it brings up so much emotion for people," the former Suits actress said, according to GB News.
Meghan, who has spent Christmas in a variety of different places over the past few years, added: "You miss home, you miss your country, and also can find comfort in the new community that you have here."
Meghan Markle Releases A New Statement Following The Southern California Welcome Project Event
The Southern California Welcome Project event took place on October 26th, with Meghan releasing a new statement on the couple's website over the weekend. "In celebration of Thanksgiving, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex and The Archewell Foundation hosted a heartfelt dinner for the Southern California Welcome Project," the statement began.
"This initiative, led by the partner organization Mina's List, has spent the past year building community through storytelling and creating a safe space for women who have resettled in the U.S. from Afghanistan. The evening included a shared meal that encouraged open conversation centered on gratitude and resilience."
The statement continued: "The Duchess expressed her deep appreciation to the attendees for sharing their personal stories and cultural experiences, underscoring her excitement for future gatherings that continue to strengthen these connections. "Through her work with The Archewell Foundation, The Duchess remains committed to uplifting women and fostering community through shared experiences, reinforcing the importance of unity and support during challenging times," the statement concluded.
