Tensions only seem to be getting worse in the royal family–and it seems that Meghan Markle is at the center of the dispute.
Recent court documents in Meghan Markle’s case against the Mail have been released, and there’s some details the Queen is NOT going to be happy about. Specifically, according to these documents, Markle claimed she felt “unprotected” by the royals, which was only made worse by her inability to defend herself.

According to E! News, who obtained the court documents, "[Meghan Markle] had become the subject of a large number of false and damaging articles by the UK tabloid media, specifically by the [Mail on Sunday], which caused tremendous emotional distress and damage to her mental health."
"As her friends had never seen her in this state before, they were rightly concerned for her welfare, specifically as she was pregnant, unprotected by the Institution, and prohibited from defending herself," it continues.
If you're wondering why this would upset the Queen and the royal family in general, you're not alone. It seems that Markle's perception of her mental health (and the UK tabloids' harmful effect on it) should not be up for dispute.
Unfortunately, according to royal author Phil Dampier, the Queen is less likely to take it that way.
In fact, Dampier told The Telegraph that the Queen was bound to be upset by this new information.
He explained, "I think the Queen is going to be absolutely devastated by this. She’ll cope with it but she will feel desperately betrayed. She broke with protocol to invite Meghan to Christmas at Sandringham before they were married, and the couple ended up with a beautiful multimillion-pound home in the middle of Windsor Great Park."
He added, "Some will be wondering: What more did they want?"
Although Markle has not directly answered that question, a previous interview with Tom Bradby seems to point to her answer. In the interview, she explained, "I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair."
She continued, "And that’s the part that’s really hard to reconcile."
