This Strapless Jumpsuit Meghan Markle Just Wore In NYC May Be Too Sexy For The Royal Family—But We Think It’s So Chic!

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out for dinner at Locanda Verde in New York there was just one thing on our minds; Meghan’s stunning monochrome jumpsuit! The Duchess of Sussex, 40, looked incredible in the black and white Gabriela Hearst number (it’s the ‘Vicky’ jumpsuit, and currently retails for $4790 for anyone who’s interested) but as chic as it was, it did actually break royal sartorial rules!

Members of the royal family are, according to royal protocol, ordinarily not supposed to show off their shoulders (there have been a few rule-breakers over the years, of course) which means strapless pieces are usually a no go. The cutout knot detailing to expose a little bit of skin at the back wouldn’t have gone down well, either! But perhaps Meghan’s latest ensemble can change whoever is in charge of the royal dress code’s mind, as there is something so effortlessly chic and sophisticated about this look!

Perhaps the styling also plays a huge part in it, as the mom-of-two tastefully accessorized her jumpsuit with simple strappy black heeled sandals, and the Bottega Veneta pouch clutch in the color grape-gold! She wore her hair in a low ponytail and didn’t opt for any jewelry around her neck, letting the jumpsuit do all the talking!

Back in December last year, Scarlett Johansson wore it on the red carpet when she attended the People’s Choice Awards, and looked just as stunning, choosing to style hers with a simple updo and a bold red lip!)
