Omid Scobie’s newest book about the Royal Family came out yesterday, Nov. 28th, and the British journalist was ruthless in his perspectives on its members (and ex-members!). Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival is Scobie’s second book, the first being Finding Freedom, which earned him the reputation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sympathizer.

The journalist covers the tension between the ex-royals and the current royals in his new book, stating that while Harry is interested reconciling with his family, “Meghan has made it clear that she never wants to be involved in the British Monarchy again.” Keep reading for more information.

Scobie says Meghan is done with the royal family—for good

To say that tensions have been high between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royal family is an understatement. Ever since the famous pair left their royal duties behind in 2020, they've thrown allegations of abuse and mistreatment at Buckingham Palace like it's their job. From their 2021 interview with Oprah, to their 2022 Netflix documentary, and Harry's 2023 memoir, Spare, they've done a great job burning bridges with Harry's family.

Scobie's Endgame dives deeper into the relationships between family members. Scobie quotes Harry as saying, "I'm ready to forget... at this point, who cares, right?" But Meghan reportedly does not share the same sentiment. According to Endgame, she "refuses to dive back into the soap opera" and "has made it clear that she never wants to be involved in the British monarchy again."

The journalist also made it clear on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Endgame is not a book about Harry and Meghan, and that he's not associated with them. In a tweet on Nov. 16th, he wrote, "And let's get this nonsense out of the way - #ENDGAME is about the current state of the British Royal Family. It's not 'Harry and Meghan's book', I'm not 'Meg's pal', the Sussexes have nothing to do with it, their story is a small part of a much bigger one you can read in 12 days."

Scobie's other royal feud allegations

Scobie's Endgame is not limited to Harry and Meghan drama, but discusses many different members of the Royal Family and the Royal Family as a whole. He takes a few swipes at the beloved Prince William and Kate Middleton as well, a rather controversial move. Scobie shares that "William is very angry with his brother, espeically since the release of Spare." But that's not all. Scobie also describes William as angry, cold, and ruthless. "The Prince of Wales is eager to ascend the throne," Scobie writes. "He wants the job done and he has no problem with casualties along the way."

Scobie goes even further, giving Kate Middleton some scathing descriptors. "She spent more time speaking about Meghan than to Meghan." he writes. Princess Kate saw Meghan as a "rival" and "each time that she heard about Meghan, Kate shook with giggles." Though he also described Kate as "calm" and "sure of herself," the Princess' adoring fans are sure to come for the journalist.

Scobie described the late Queen as "close to perfection," avoiding the wrath of millions that was sure to come if he insulted Queen Elizabeth, but did not spare King Charles. The King reportedly ordered members of the Royal Family not to trust Harry after he published Spare. "As far as Harry was concerned," Scobie wrote, "the message that circulated in the family was not to confide in him... everyone took it very seriously."

Neither Harry and Meghan nor anyone from Buckingham Palace has commented on Endgame... yet.
