Meghan Markle Opens Up About Her And Prince Harry Having ‘Individual Jobs’ In New Interview After Reports There Was ‘Tension’ From Working Together

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been exploring professional independence for quite a while now, with reports suggesting that the decision was made to benefit both their personal lives and their professional lives.
“They clearly want to establish their own identities, but their previous projects haven’t all gone as planned,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams previously stated. He added at the time: “Working separately might give them more opportunities to succeed.”
Other reports previously hinted at “tension” between them when they worked together, making their decision to take on solo projects – such as Prince Harry’s Harry’s widely-criticized Polo series and Meghan’s controversial With Love, Meghan show – a seemingly practical move, despite the mixed reviews. Meghan Markle Tells 'People' How She And Prince Harry Spend Time Together Amid Their Professional Separation
In a recent interview with People magazine, the 43-year-old former Suits actress opened up about how she and Prince Harry, 40, maintain their strong relationship despite spending more time apart due to their professional separation.
According to the interview, the parents-of-two enjoy "day dates" in the daytime, which includes having lunch together. "I imagine that it's the same as it would be for any couple. You have your individual jobs, but then you have things that you share together," she told the mag, perhaps trying to appear relatable.
As well as spending time together in the day, the As Ever founder also said that she and her husband like to end their evenings by catching up on the events of the day over a nightcap. Detailing their "nightcap recaps" and their daily and nightly routine, Meghan said: "I think all parents in this phase with kids the same age know it's rinse and repeat."
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Were Reportedly Struggling To Work Together
Despite their solo projects not getting the best reviews, it still seems like flying solo professionally was a good choice for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the grand scheme of things, as there have been many reports about them struggling to work together over the years. This could partly be due to Meghan's history of working independently before meeting Prince Harry, making the transition to a shared professional life potentially difficult.
"Meghan got tired of always being a package deal," an insider said at the start of the year, according to Ok! "She's long been super independent, which has caused some tension, but now she and Harry are on the same page," they added, in reference to their decision to take on individual projects.
The source reassured fans that their professional separation does not indicate any trouble in their marriage, adding: "While others might consider the long-distance nature of their relationship a big deal, Harry and Meghan don't."
